This site is where you can buy some of the work of photographer Roger Croxson. As time goes by different images will be added.
Tthe images are divided into two groups: the conventional 5" x 7" or 6" x 8" (13cm x 18cm & 15cm x 20cm) that fit into a standard 10" x 12 ( 25cm x 30cm) frame.
The second group are slightly different and are made from 5" x 16" ( 13cm x 41cm) prints both in the vertical and horizontal (portrait and landscape).
These pictures are taken from ordinary size photographs, they are not necessarily panoramic shots, and represent the essence of the subject. They are based on the Golden Ratio, a shape that nature including humans rarely reaches but tends towards. It occurs in much of nature from the ratio of the parts of a fish to the spiral growth of the seeds of the sunflower and has been used by humans including the Greeks and Leonardo de Vinci.
These pictures take two sets of golden ratio and put them end on - the basic ratio is approximately 8:5. these photos are 16:5 maybe still providing the attraction that the true ratio gives. They are then mounted in a 16" x 20" ( 41cm x 51cm) mount ready for framing.
The mounts are normally light in colour and may differ from that shown on the web site. The images are shown with mount and frame that is computer generated. Each 16" x 5" ( 41cm x 13cm) print is one of a limited edition of 50, the smaller prints are of unlimited editions.
Limited Edition Single Larger Prints are available (unless already sold) for most pictures displayed, these are 16" x 12" ( 41cm x 30cm) (mount 20" x 16" ( 51cm x 41cm)) for the smaller photographs and 30" x 9.5" ( 76cm x 23cm) (mount 36" x 16" ( 91cm x 41cm)) ready for framing. please ask for availability. Please see the Techniques page for technical details. We recommend all prints are kept out of direct or strong sunlight and are placed behind picture or plastic glass.
